Norwegian/Dutch outfit Klangstof have a sound which is very much their own right now, and on latest single ‘We Are Your Receiver’ - they’ve pulled it out of the bag once again. Evocative, thought-provoking, intoxicating - these are all adjectives placed in front of the Klangstof name before now, and this new offering 100% reinforces those claims. According to frontman and chief-songwriter Koen Van De Wardt, the song is about “leaving our offline selves behind” - a scary notion, really - backed by a stirring cacophony of rousing indie-pop soundscapes. Van De Wardt & co are set to release their debut album via Mind Of A Genius later this year; at the moment it’s on the cards to be one of the year’s best. -JC
